Transforming lives through research in T&I – how can we evidence impact?

Increasingly, researchers are expected to clearly articulate and account for the impact of their research, whether it is fundamental or applied. This holds true for the field of translation and interpreting. In this talk, I propose to ask questions about how we are tackling research impact in our field: What counts as impact in the field of translation and interpreting research? How do we measure it, beyond numbers of publications, presentations and citations? Are we explicitly highlighting the impact of our research in our publications and elsewhere? Are we training early career researchers in research impact design, execution and articulation?
